In preparation of our next topic in Suceava we watched the animated movie “Where is Anne Frank” directed by Ari Folman.
In 1942 Anne Frank created in her diary the imaginary friend Kitty. For more than two years she keeps writing her letters. In the movie Kitty comes to life in Amsterdam in the Anne Frank Huis and sets out for looking for Anne and the family Frank. She follows Anne’s footsteps from the hiding place in the back house to the concentration camp in Bergen-Belsen. On her journey she is supported by her friend Peter who gives a secret shelter to refugees without papers. Kitty is shocked by the discrepancy between the public appreciation shown for Anne Frank and the way refugees are treated. In a very dramatic and breathtaking action she sets a sign for tolerance and hope.
Our students also kept a diary throughout the trip to Rodez. Take a look!
