Right at the beginning of the first exchange week the pupils from Augsburg, Suceava and Rodez presented their mind maps on the topic of world nutrition to each other. They had prepared the mind maps in advance at their respective schools. They dealt with the production conditions of food, fair trade and eating habits. Always on the lookout for collective and individual solutions to reduce the impact on our climate. The respective thoughts and results were debated and exchanged together. Where does our daily bread come from? How is food produced and what resources are wasted in the process? Is meat consumption harmful to the climate and can a vegan diet be the solution? Where else are there difficulties? How can it be that refugees in Europe are exploited on vegetable plantations? Who can bring about change and better conditions, and how? Politics? Agriculture? Fair Trade? All of us, as consumers? Not everyone was always in agreement, but exciting new perspectives, ideas and thoughts emerged from the exchange on all sides. A good start!
After lunch, they had a guided Augsburg city tour on the topic of water next.
