After a warm welcome we got a tour of the school.
Then the students gave a short presentation with information and pictures of each group’s school and city.
We visited the Museum Casa del Belén nearby. Murcia is wellknown for nativity scenes made out of clay. The museum shows the tradition of this craft and the process of making the figures. In the centre there is a large nativity scene of more than 10 square meters where the houses are like the houses of the area and which contains a lot of scenes of daily life.
Then we visited a “barraca“, a traditional house. In Murcia existed three types of housing: with a cross on the roof, with a halfmoon on the roof or with the Star of David – showing the three different cultures living in harmony.
Finally we walked to the local market Puente Torcinos where the students had to collect data for the market research.
